Skirmish

Think about every time you've played a game of Warhammer and you've wondered about the cause and effect of your hard fought battle. What sparked off the conflict and who picks up the pieces? An Assassin steals in to the enemies camp at night to kill the opposing general, picking his way through the weary towards his goal. A small band of fearful warriors must survive wave after wave of shambling zombies to warn a nearby village of an imminent attack. Stubborn Dwarfs guard the deep tunnels under their mountain holds against all manner of horrors. There are all sorts of adventures you can play out with the aid of the Warhammer Skirmish rules.

Rival cultists summon arcane energy to strike down a Chaos Warrior.

Thieving egg-hunters get more than they bargained for when a protective Griffon returns to her roost. Skirmish can take place in any corner of the Warhammer World.

Warhammer Skirmish isn't a new concept, nor is it a new product, supplement or Army book. The idea of skirmishing has always been a strong part of Warhammer. But up until now it has taken a back seat to common theme of two massive armies taking to the battlefield and duking it out. This has all changed!

Why is Warhammer Skirmish so great? Maybe your army isn't that large yet or you only have a small place to play and a limited amount of time to get a game in. Skirmish helps solve all those problems. Using the Skirmish rules allows you to explore the most evocative parts of the immense Warhammer World.

The best part of Warhammer Skirmish is that you can get started with whatever models you have painted up. If you'd like to expand your collection, or just have an excuse to paint a massive Dragon or a fearsome Chaos Knight, this is your chance to make use of these models right away. Even better is the chance to link smaller Skirmish battles together that finally coalesce into a mighty game of Warhammer, all the while building on a satisfying story.

Maybe you're new to the idea of skirmishing or maybe you're totally new to Warhammer itself. Both are perfect reasons to try out a Warhammer Skirmish scenario. To get started right away, follow this link to find out everything you need to know about scenarios. After that, check out some of the skirmish games by accessing the List of Scenarios here. More store deals, hobby projects, battle reports, and scenarios are being added all of the time, so check back often to see what's new!
