hazghkull
Mag Uruk Thraka is one of the most powerful Ork Warlords of all
time. After taking a bolter round to the head (and surviving a little
inventive surgery), this Goff boy started to have visions from Gork
and Mork. Within a relatively short space of time, Ghazghkull had
united the Ork tribes and laid waste to all in his path. Ghazghkull
has become the prophet of the Waaagh!, and under his command, the
Orks have spread across the galaxy like a green scourge. Ghazghkull
is so dangerous a foe that the Imperium's mightiest heroes have
sworn oaths to hunt him down — few have survived, and none
have succeeded.

here's
no two ways about it — Ghazghkull is dead 'ard. Although he
is armed with a big-shoota, it's clearly in the midst of close combat
where he really shines. A mighty 7 Attacks on the charge that can
hit home with a tank-busting Strength 10. An impressive 2+ Armour
save and 4 Wounds provide Ghazghkull with ample protection from
any rank-and-file infantry he wants to smash aside. He can even
go one on one with monstrous creatures and Dreadnoughts without
having to fear Instant Death — although he might loose a couple
of teef in doing so. Perhaps the most dangerous thing about Ghazghkull,
though, is his Prophet of the Waaagh! rule. On the turn this ability
is used, all Ork infantry units become Fearless (provided they aren't
running away like scaredy-squigs) and can move an extra 6"
as they Fleet of Foot. This extra movement ignores difficult terrain,
and your opponent will soon find his battle lines overwhelmed by
mobz of angry Boyz charging in (with Furious Charge to boot). Ghazghkull
also becomes all but invulnerable on this turn; just the trick if
you are about to barrel into a squad of Terminators.
hazghkull
works best when used in conjunction with lots of Boyz, as all Ork
infantry can all claim the benefit from the Prophet of the Waaagh!
While he might be dead-killy and as hard as nails, Ghazghkull is
a bit of a slow poke with his Slow and Purposeful movement. First
of all, consider purchasing a Battlewagon so that Ghazghkull can
ride into battle in style. Remember that as an open-topped vehicle,
Ghazghkull and his bodyguard will be able to launch an assault from
the Battlewagon even if it moved that turn. Secondly, make sure
he doesn't go in alone but leads a mob of Boyz or better yet, a
unit of Nobz with a Painboy for those Feel No Pain saves! Ghazghkull
isn't Fearless, but he does use the Ork Mob Rule, meaning that as
long as plenty of the ladz are around, he won't need to worry about
pesky pinning tests and the like. Not only does a big squad increase
his combat potential, it also absorbs some of that heavy weapons
fire that will certainly be coming your way.
he
best way to make sure that Ghazghkull doesn't rip through your battle
lines is to make sure he never gets there! If Ghazghkull is riding
to battle in a troop transport, then target it as a priority. Ghazghkull
might be the single most powerful Ork out there, and a large unit
of very tough Orks will certainly accompany him, but they're no good
if they spend the entire battle slogging towards you and not fighting.
If your pride and honour overrides that of common sense and you actually
want to kill him... The first thing to do is to whittle his bodyguard
down to a more manageable size; otherwise, they'll just absorb your
armour-negating weaponry. Then, try and launch your own assault (this
is usually a suicide mission for the squad), preferably with an elite
unit with several high-Strength weapons that ignore Armour saves.
