 The
Struggle for Vor’Anoth is a campaign where you
and a buddy dedicate a few nights to bashing the heck out
of each other in the name of fun. The campaign escalates as
you go, starting out with a single-squad action, followed
by a healthy dose of Kill Team, then a few Warhammer 40,000
battles, and then one final 2,000-point game. To keep things
interesting, not only will you gain Campaign Points for each
victory, but along the way you’ll rack up Mission Benefits
that your army can use during the final, decisive battle.
Grab enough benefits and you’ll have quite an advantage
when it comes time to throw down.
The campaign is set around an Ork invasion that threatens
to ravage a promising Tau colony. These two armies are classic
opposites in just about every way, so the games should be
a challenge for both players. Though this campaign focuses
on these two armies, you can substitute other armies as you
see fit. All the missions are fairly generic, so it’s
possible to substitute two other armies without any trouble.
Whenever you come across the word “Tau,” just
replace it with your army and have your opponent do the same
for the word “Ork.”
In addition to all this cool campaign-gaming-goodness, we've
included a decent smattering of terrain projects for you to
try out. In one way or another, each piece of terrain is central
to a mission you’ll play. Thus, it’ll pay to build
the terrain ahead of time in order to enhance the games. Besides,
it’s always a good thing to have a varied terrain collection
for your gaming group.
Hopefully by this point you are interested or at least mildly
curious about what The Struggle for Vor’Anoth
has to offer. Let’s get things rolling with a few basic
rules for the campaign followed by a bit of background on
the conflict. After that, you’re on your own to explore
the missions and terrain projects at your leisure!
