creating the awe-inspiring terrain for the Chaos Space Marine
codex, the Studio Hobby Team (Dom Murray, Dave Andrews, Mark
Jones, Neil Hodgson, and Chad Mierzwa), sat down and came
up with a few points to guide them during the project. They
were: |
| "The major enemy of Chaos is the Imperium. Most battles will take place on Imperial planets. We need to build up the tragedy of Battle Brother fighting Battle Brother.
"
"Chaos should be shown to be an utterly destructive force. Rubble, death, defiled shrines, ruined outposts, pollution, murder, kill, kill."
"This is a great opportunity to add to
the existing terrain based on the 40K building
kits. We should be showing Chaos rampaging across
planets, through cities, and crushing their foes." |

| With these ideas in mind, the Studio Hobby Team sat down
with Gav Thorpe and came up with the following terrain pieces. |
